AI & the End Times
Many people who are Christian and who are not have a great deal of concern over the rise of AI. One large concern is about AI taking over their jobs. I think that AI taking over many jobs is highly probable. While he has flip-flopped on the issue, Sam Altman, the CEO of Open AI (which produces Chat GPT) has said, “My job is to help people destroy jobs.” I am personally concerned about unemployment rising to a level that we haven’t seen before in the world.
According to Ex Google Officer Mo Gawdat, Sam Altman has said that AI will “likely end humanity” as spoken of in the video above with nearly 5 million views by the popular Youtuber The Diary of a CEO, who has around 19 million followers as of the date of this publication (8/7/26).
In the video below, a former ChatGPT employee was offered $2 million to keep quiet about his concerns about AI & Chat GPT.
I would not be surprised in the least if a scenario like the one in the video below unfolded, perhaps even with cooperation from people on the side of AI for reasons like saving the planet from the destructive path of humanity by putting AI in control that the video above points out to be a surprisingly common phenomenon among those who work in the AI industry. I believe someone said in one of the above videos that roughly 10% of those in the industry felt that AI would do better than humans for control of the world.
In the video below, we see that AI has had a history of seeking to murder people and otherwise harm people.
In the video below, it doesn’t mention God, but it should set off some alarm bells about how close we could get to a sci fi Terminator scenario becoming a plausible reality rather than a statistically unlikely work of science fiction.
While I use AI in some of my writing (disclosed when that is the case, i.e., not used in this brief article), I have significant concerns about AI & its potential relation to the end times spoken of in the book of Revelation. I’m not alone in this concern from a biblical vantage point. Oxford Professor of Mathematics John Lennox has written a book about it.
