Money is Important, but it Doesn’t Buy Happiness

The home above is where my parents lived when my mom left my dad. I was living with them at the time while studying full time at Regent University about an hour away. I went with my mom.

Adam living in a homemade shelter built with raw materials for 3 nights. The only non-raw material was the trash bag used as a door. Adam learned to make these while acquiring the Wilderness Survival merit badge in Boy Scouts. The first night there was a storm, but he slept fine.
In the year after Adam graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Christian Education, he sought a sabbatical, which included an 8 week stent of being intentionally homeless while ministering to the homeless. I had more joy during 8 weeks of homelessness yet in the will of God than I did in much time where I wasn’t sufficiently in the will of God at my parents’ home pictured near the top of this page.
